This is the promo for this episode that was shown at the end of last week's episode on Space TV. It's different than the one we got here in the states. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDJCUdqcx0U

First, I have to say, I had a little pang of sadness when I saw Kim Manners' name in the opening credits. On to the show...I had to LOL and say, "How dare you!" at the same time over the fact that all the strippers had Disney Princesses names! Oh, and I know a Jasmine, and she is one of the sweetest people out there, and so not a stripper! I also loved all the phones Bobby had. He rocks! At least I didn't have to see Ruby. Ugh. Ooh, and Sammy and the doctor had a little fun, and she didn't die! The real siren...yeah, I was spoiled for that, but I don't think I would have been surprised anyways as Kara was too easy (and there was too much time left in the show for it to be her). The real siren--as in , the way he looked--was creepy! The way he wanted people to kill their loved ones over him...ewww. I cheered Bobby on when he killed him (even though I would have rather one of the boys break the spell and kill him themselves). Okay...I'm sorry Yor, but Sammy kind of irritated me. First, his look at Dean when he mentioned reading "The Odyssey" (which, by the way, I had to read TWICE and HATED!). Really, dude, give the guy a little credit. Although, it's not really his fault as much as it is the writers as there has been alot of inconsistensies that I've noticed over Dean's intelligence (in one episode, he knows the lore, and then in the next, he comes across as incompetent). The fight...I bet the boys loved that, given their comments after "Skin." Haven't they been itching to have another scene like that for a while? Oh, and the angst. I wasn't surprised by what Dean "wanted"--he's always just wanted his family, which goes all the way back to season 1. And, of course, he can't trust Sam. But Sam, well, I have to say, I was a bit surprised by his feelings towards Dean, not to mention really turned off by them. Really, Sam? Talk about harsh. He's the better hunter? He's better at everything than his brother (although, honestly, I can kind of see him thinking that way). Dude, the guy went to hell for you! Yeah, you didn't ask him to and he made the deal, but he's back and you don't seem the least bit grateful. I really did not like Sam at all. ETA: Where he said Dean was "whiny" about hell...dude, you pestered him for how long to talk about it? He's talked about it, what, 3 times? What I hope is that they are starting to show Sam going down that slope they keep talking about. I agree with other posts I've read that Sam's flaw is pride...he thinks he's better than Dean...so it should be his pride that starts his descent. This is like "Asylum, Part 2," only with both boys having issues instead of just one of them. And the end--are they good?? Frak, no, they're about as far from good as you can be! The acting--wow, the boys really brought their A-game to this one. What's upsetting is we won't get to see another episode until March! Now, what I would like to see is Dean choose to leave Sam and for Sam to have to answer for whatever it is he's doing with Ruby (and I read a really...disturbing... theory about that; not a spoiler, just what someone thinks). He needs to be held accountable for once and not have it swept under the rug of he can't control what's happened to him, that he didn't ask for it. This episode kind of has me nervous for the rest of this season and their relationship. After last weeks let-down, this one is a shining star. ETA: I thought Dean was wrong to bring up Madison like that. I had no problem with him calling Ruby a monster, but the Madison situation was different. While I never bought Sam and Madison falling that quickly, it was still very hard on Sam. Of course, by this point he already knew Sam was in contact with Ruby again, and he was ticked, and probably wasn't sensoring what he said. Words hurt worse, sometimes. But, still, it was harsh.

Um, HELLO... Sam's BACK??? Thank you Jared for not sleeping in each morning and hitting the gym. I would like to respectfully disagree about Sam's look at Dean about the "Odyssey" comment. In my opinion, Dean has never been characterized as one who would have read classic Greek literature. I was as stunned as Sam. I thought the moment was perfect. I loved it. Dean never ceases to amaze and surprise us. I was delighted with the look. In this case, I do not believe it was the writers playing Dean as dumb. It was the writers playing to Dean's character. They've shown us he was less than interested in school, the only reading material shown for him thus far on the show was porn... I thought the scene was very fitting and made me smile. I loved the fight. The show needs to come to this for the boys to ever be healthy again. Dean is, in a way, holding Sam back. Sam didn't phrase it nicely, but then again, Dean's issues aren't healthy either. For cripes sake, a man can't call people without Dean's permission? Dean has to know everything? I don't blame Sam. Although I disagree again. Sam specifically said he wasn't pushing Dean to talk about hell. He stopped. Dean confessed. The 'whining' he's referring to is not overt in my opinion. I think it's the haunted look, the drinking, etc. PLUS, we don't know what Dean might have been saying or doing SINCE revealing his role in hell. In honesty, I think the lowest thing that happened last night was on Dean's part. The comment about Madison was WAY LOW. Unacceptably low! So we've got the set up and I love it. Sam MUST have the chance to try his "way" of fighting. Castiel's warning be damned. Sorry, but I know my Sammy... He can dabble with darkness and ultimately win... He has Dean... Who will ultimately pull him back. And Bobby? Bobby just rocks in all things AMAZING! Sigh Love Bobby. Although I read something... somewhere that said his new show was NOT good. (not because of him I'm sure)

Sam specifically said he wasn't pushing Dean to talk about hell. After he already did, though. He did push until Dean told him point blank that he wasn't going to tell him about it...they even showed it in the "Then" part, which was when Sam was actually cold (in my opinion) about it.
I think it's the haunted look, the drinking, etc. Yes, but he's been to hell...for 40 years. If you ask me, he's handling it pretty well, considering.
Dean has to know everything? I don't blame Sam. No, he doesn't have to know everything. In fact, I'd almost bet that Sam hasn't told him half of what he did while Dean was in hell (and we've never really seen Dean ask more than that time when we got how wonderful Ruby is...ugh!). But, Sam is working with a demon, on his demon powers. I do blame Sam. The show has told me since the whole powers thing came up that they were evil; we all saw what happened to the other "special" kids when they embraced their powers. Sam is, in essense, choosing the evil over his family. Sam, in my opinion, is just like his father (only John didn't have demon blood). He has one goal in mind, and he is determined to achieve it and to heck with everything else. John sacrificed his family, in essense, in his eternal hunt for the YED. Both Dean and Sam suffered as a result. Now, Sam has the same tunnel vision where Lilith is concerned. I understand why he feels that way, but I don't agree at all with his methods. Neither John nor Sam have been the type to stand back and look at the bigger picture--they never really look around to see how their actions may affect those who care about them. That is how I see Sam right now. Under a spell or not, I do think that both boys were speaking the truth, so, to me, Sam's statements to Dean were just as low as Dean's statement about Madison. He almost made light of what happened to Dean and of Dean's feelings about it. Both boys have been hurtful to the other in the past. And, okay, after reading what you said about "The Odyssey," I can say that I was wrong in that opinion, but the show has still shown me in the past that Sam doesn't think highly of his brother at times. Maybe not so much in words, but in looks, in reactions to things his brother has said, and I guess that was where I was coming from.
He can dabble with darkness and ultimately win... He has Dean... Who will ultimately pull him back. For once, though, I want to see Dean not be there for Sam. I think Sam expects it--he expects that Dean will always be there, no matter what. I think Dean needs to do the leaving this time, to show that he won't just accept anything that Sam does because he's his brother--that there are consequences to his actions, that there is a price to pay. Cold, yes, but Dean needs to make that break to help with his issues, too, I think. And, I think Dean needs to let Sam fall. He can be there in the end for support, but I think Sam is the one who needs to get himself back.
Dean is, in a way, holding Sam back From what, though, exactly? From using his powers? Sam seems to have forgotten where these things come from. I would think there was something wrong with Dean if he didn't try to stop Sam. I know I would fight tooth and nail if my sibling was heading down the path that Sam is on.
What I don't want the show to do is sugar-coat this. If they are going to make Sam go evil like they've been teasing for the last few years, let him go. Let him hit rock bottom, let his actions have consequences. Don't make evil good--there's a reason it's called evil. Hold him accountable for what he does (which is one thing I don't think the show ever really does with Sam--he's never really been held accountable for his actions, has never really had to answer for anything). No matter how it's shown, in my opinion, Sam is wrong for taking this path. Like I said, I understand it, and it makes sense, but, for me, it is wrong.
HELLO... Sam's BACK??? So, the first time I read this, I thought, "Where did he go?" ;D
