I'm a bit sad it wasn't both boys. I was hoping it was. Looks like Jared got some down time.
On the flip side?
DID YOU SEE THE DATE??? April 30th, 1973!!!!!
I WAS FOUR ON THAT DAY!!! MY BIRTHDAY! I SO have to call my mom and find out what we did!!! Let's see, we were in Ohio... I was four... Hmmm....

I had read where someone said they had read that filming was changed to allow Jared to go back and reshoot some scenes from "Friday the 13th." I don't know if this is true or not, and I don't know if it was this episode that was affected (the episode order also changed), but if it was this episode, maybe that's why he doesn't go back? Or, maybe he does go back, but not with Dean?

It's not both of them? Only Dean? That sucks. This is what the summary on tv.com said: Dean gets transported back in time and ends up in Lawrence, Kansas, where he crosses path with a young version of his parents, who have just fallen in love. No Sam.

Me too! Maybe Sam has an awesome second storyline that'll make up for it?

You know, I remember when Kripke first mentioned this story, he said both boys would go back. Even in the sides, it sounded like both boys would be there. But I've read more posts about Jared having to go and reshoot some scenes From 'Friday the 13th," so I'm guessing maybe they had to change up the storyline to accomodate him.
Of course, this is all my speculation. ;D

This is a short article from Buddy TV about this episode (spoilers)--- www.buddytv.com/articles/supernatural/supernatural-preview-in-the-be-23193.aspxUm, it appears from the comments below the article that (don't read if you don't want to know the spoiler that has evoked some strong feelings about the show, not just on the Buddy TV site but elsewhere that I've seen) *** Sam is only in the episode for about one minute, according to the person who wrote the above who has seen the episode.***

Ok, we have discussions about aspects of the show, but I don't think we're any where near the scary that some of these people are...
Yeah, I would have loved to see Sam in the past as well, but as a Sam-fan, it's not like I'm not going to watch. Some people are a bit... I dunno... what's the right adjective?

what's the right adjective?Crazy? ;D That site is not the only one where I've read people saying they weren't going to watch. It seems like some see this as some sort of slight against Jared/Sam fans (which I serously doubt), and it has become a Sam/Jared vs Dean/Jensen sort of thing, which is just plain stupid. And, honestly, I've read the opposite, too (where some have said certain things in the show have been a slight against Jensen/Dean fans). It seems like, sometimes, no matter what Kripke does, people just aren't happy. Well, I'm happy--I just hope that between Jensen, Jared, and Misha, my TV doesn't spontaneoulsy combust before the end of the season!

Kripke says as much in the latest SPN magazine. He says he loves the fans, but there is simply no way to please them, so he stays true to his own vision.
