I never read Faust (bad German, I know), but I know about the pact with the devil. That alone is just very fitting for this episode. I don't know if it tells anything about where the story might go, I think it was just a fitting detail for the episode. Also, what is so funny about "rehymenated"? I don't know the exact meaning of the word, but I can imagine. Something about Dean saying he's back to being a virgin ...

Okay, THAT I got. Oh, maybe not how it fits the episode, but pacting with the Devil is the very Winchester thing. BUT DOES IT MEAN SOMETHING FOR THE FUTURE? Or am I overinterpretating people's interpretations?
The virginity thing is obvious too, but why is "rehymenated" (whatever that means ;D ) more funny than "I'm a virgin again"?

Part of it I think is because of how he says it, the look on his face, the fact that guys don't have one...and I'm guessing the writer thought it was a funny word, too.
Heh, as I heard Jensen say that word, for some reason I thought about his mother watching this episode!

Also, men don't have Hymens... and the word simply doesn't exist. He made it up.
I actually thought that whole thought process on his part was wrong, funny kinda, but wrong. God's direct intervention in his life and he's off to do something so blatantly against 'God's will?"
I could have understood him wanting to hook up with a woman because he's out of hell, but needing to be a virgin? Or assuming he was somehow a virgin again... Just didn't play for me.

I think that is Dean's train of thought--to me it sounded like something he would think and say. Plus, alot of times I think he says these things just to get a response out of Sam, just to see how Sam reacts. God's direct intervention in his life and he's off to do something so blatantly against 'God's will?" Well, I still don't think he's 100% sold on God. Yeah, he mentions a "mission from God" to Jamie, but I still don't think he's all the way there yet. And Dean is still Dean, of course his mind is going to work that way. Plus, it gives him something to do so he doesn't have to think about who/why he's back from hell. Also, I think alot of it is the writer of this episode. I think each writer sees the boys in a different way and writes them as such. Maybe this writer has that kind of sense of humor anyway, and he writes it for Dean? It was more like the beginning of season 3 Dean, though, but of course, just back from a stay in hell, Dean's going to want to get back to normal, and this is normal for him. And, it was suppose to be a funny episode.
