Well, there are worse things than lederhosen.
He could be wearing a kilt.

I liked this one, with the whole black and white monster movie, misunderstood creature thing. I think it was a nice change of pace from the angst-fest, for at least a little bit. Did everyone end up feeling a little bad for the Shapeshifter? And apparently shifter's can be born from human parents? "My Dad called me a monster and tried to beat me to death with a shovel." Poor movie obsessed shapeshifter. I have a question though, what was the thing with the napkins? That just a clue for Sam and Dean and I'm being stupid?

I don't know that I've ever laughed as hard at a SPN episode as I did this one. Loved the opening credits, all the tongue-in-cheek stuff. Jensen's and Jared's faces in this one were nothing but perfection! Once again, I think they cast a great female guest star in the actress that played Jamie. I really liked her opposite Dean/Jensen. The shapeshifter was good, too. I bet the actor had a blast playing Dracula! Yeah, I felt bad for him, too, but towards the end of his speech I have to admit that I was ready for him to shut-up. And I love that Jamie killed him! Dean--"rehymenated???" I can't believe they got away with that one! And I can't believe it made me laugh! I do find it interesting that Dean mentions all his scars are gone--I wonder if that's going to come up somewhere down the road??? Both boys eating pretzels! I could tell that this one should have aired earlier--they seem too "happy" after what happened in "Metamorphisis." Plus, there's Dean asking about the new "Raiders" movie. I thoroughly enjoyed how it was filmed and how it was a callback to all those old monster movies I watched with my parents as a kid (and adult--I did watch the Abbott and Costello movie Dean mentions with my dad a few months ago, and I remember laughing at how cheesy it was, which may be why I laughed so much at this one). Dean's speech--a little bit of seriousness in all the humor. It did sound funny to me, though, when he mentioned being on a "mission from God." It's not something he would have said in the past. It felt almost uncomfortable to me. It's leading me to believe that maybe he's starting to believe there might be a higher power out there, but he's not quite all the way there yet. I loved how Sam was smiling at Dean in the end! And that kiss! Whoo---I bet Jensen is an amazing kisser (those lips! ). Sam knows his brother so well, too--"Porky's 2!" "Hansel"--that had to be one of the best parts of the whole episode! Both boys looked like they were about to crack up! I wonder how many takes of that scene they had to do??? It looked like they all had fun filming this one! The boys, in black-and-white, in suits! Holy smokes, I'm surprised my TV didn't spontaneously combust! This will be one, when I down or depressed about something, that I turn on to cheer myself up!

ok, and I went spoiler free for this one after the lederhosen picture...
I found the episode only ok, but with charming scenes.
I loved the slight bit of edge in Sam's voice when he tells Dean he saw the movie when Dean was in hell... And then the look of pure joy on his face when he sees Dean bouncing with enthusiasm for not only the pretzels and life...
Silke, you're going to puke at all the Bavarian, aren't you? Actually, it was a bit much for me too. Seriously, there aren't that many dirndl's and l'hosen in the US, much less at an Oktoberfest!
I liked the cheesy horror music, I liked the casting, although Jamie might have been a bit too perfect, but heck, it was a throw back. The heroines were that way. I LOVED Dean in Lederhosen, although they denied us lower legs... But yes, there was Hansel as well.
But... I was ticked that Sam was pathetic again. Dean's the hero. Sam's knocked out. So, he's either evil or pathetic? How annoying for this Sam-girl... It was all hail the glorious Dean, as usual. *pouting* Sam didn't even need to be in this ep. He could have done another week in Hawaii.
I also didn't like Sam's makeup. Again, I know it was for the genre, but ick. I did like how giddy Sam was when he figured out the characters.
I thought Dean's speech was out of place and wrong for the episode as well.
Opposite of Mick, at this point, I don't know that I would actually watch this one again. It's very miss-able.
However, before final judgment, I'll watch again when I return. That's all for now. There's packing to do...

ok, rewatching this morning... I do find Drac riding away on the scooter, hysterical...
But seriously? Sam just walking boldly into a room with a 'monster' known to be about? And of course gets jumped from behind and thrown into a wall unconscious? Grrr....

Dean's the hero.Actually, I would have to disagree with you (and Dean!) on this one. When Jamie thanked the guys for saving her life, I wanted to say, "No, honey, you saved their lives!" She's the one who pulled the trigger and killed Dracula. I think of her as more of the hero than either of the boys. They may have figured it all out, but, in the end, both of them were flat on their back on the floor (ooh--the images! ) and she was the one standing. And, what's up with Dean being in peril this season? From what I read last night, it seems opinions are split on this one. People either really liked it, or thought it was just okay but wouldn't watch it again. If I hadn't grown up with a mother who loved old monster movies and a father who loved Abbott and Costello (which, as I said earlier, this one really reminded me of), I don't know that I would have liked it as much. I guess it just brought back good memories for me.
