Well, I've never been much of a fan of old horror movies, but I enjoyed this a lot. And I'll definitely watch it again. This was just what I needed this week I loved Sam's face when Dean went for the pretzels And apparently shifter's can be born from human parents?I have been wondering about this since "Skin". Finally we get an answer. I have a question though, what was the thing with the napkins? That just a clue for Sam and Dean and I'm being stupid? It might be from a horror movie, but if it is, I don't know it. Dean's speech--a little bit of seriousness in all the humor. I also found it a bit misplaced in this episode, but it was nice hearing that he doesn't see hunting as a burden anymore. Silke, you're going to puke at all the Bavarian, aren't you? Actually, it was a bit much for me too. Seriously, there aren't that many dirndl's and l'hosen in the US, much less at an Oktoberfest!LOL Well, it was a horror episode, so the Bavarian fit in perfectly It wasn't enough to make me puke though *grin* What is it with Americans and their love for the Oktoberfest anyway? But... I was ticked that Sam was pathetic again. Dean's the hero. You know, I think that really fit for this episode. In the old movies, there's always just one hero, not two. Sam was the trusted sidekick in this one Though he did save Dean in the end ... if Sam hadn't shown up, Dean would have been frankenstein'ed LOL And who knows what Dracula had planned with "Mina". I do find Drac riding away on the scooter, hysterical...I loved that! As much as "Hänsel"

it was nice hearing that he doesn't see hunting as a burden anymore. Wait a minute, but when did he ever? ;D I thought it was Sam who didn't like it all that much. All in all I didn't find it as funny as I thought I would. Besides I prefer the episodes that forward the main plot, not stand-alones, and I think it didn't feel right after "Metamorphosis". I keep thinking it was before Dean's trip to the past, the reveal of Sam using his powers and the subsequent mistrust between the brothers. As a steam-reliever it works well after the last two weeks and the next week that will apparently be all-angsty as well, but the attitudes just didn't ring true to me. Re: Sam on the ground and Dean the hero? No-no. Dean was on his back just as well. It was the damsel-in-distress that saved herself (and the heroes) this time.

He kept saying in Season 2 that he was tired and just wanted a break from everything.

From what I read on other sites, the consensus seems to be that it was done as a way for Sam to realize who the real monster was.

It was suppose to air before "In the Beginning." The network felt like showing it as episode 3 would be too soon in the season (they were worried new viewers wouldn't want to watch anymore), so they told Kripke and Co to switch the order. I agree that it sort of felt out of place, but if you think of it as after "AYTG?" and before "In the Beginning," (I think) it fits better.

Well, I did notice the Goethe and thought it might mean something, but I had no idea what. Thanks for the link, although the story there of Faust has me a little nervous about what went on in hell...
I watched this one again last night, with Shawn. He said it was "corny," and he loved it! He laughed at Dracula on the Vespa and really laughed with the "rehymenated." Then he asked me what night the show comes on (maybe he'll start watching with me!).

I've heard of the story before, the guy makes a deal with the devil because he wants to know everything or something. I never would have seen the Goethe thing or knew what it meant. As in Goethe, who wrote "Faust," the classic story of a man who makes a pact with the devil: as long as the devil does what Faust asks on earth, Faust will do what the devil wants in Hell.
I don't think that's a good sign for Sam.

Ah, but do you want me to give away the ending?
My level threes study Goethe later this year...

I saw people talking away Goethe, but kill me if I have a clue what it's all about. Other than the pact with the Devil thing. What makes everyone so excited about it? ;D
Also, what is so funny about "rehymenated"? ;D
I feel dumb today...
