from cwtv.com:
Sam and Dean travel to Sturbridge, Massachusetts, and discover a coven of witches that has killed two people. Ruby warns the brothers to stay away as the demon controlling these witches is very powerful and will surely kill them. Ignoring her plea, Sam and Dean go in after the coven and confront the head witch, who reveals Ruby's past.
Robert Singer directed the episode written by Ben Edlund.
It's going to air on January, 31st.

Okay, wow. First of all ... GROSS!!!!! These witches have some absolutely disgusting ways to kill off people *shudders* During the teeth scene in the beginning ... I was hiding under the blanket pretty much the whole time. What was revealed about Ruby and the demons, what they used to be, VEEEERY interesting. So she still remembers what it's like to be a human; should Dean ever really have to go to hell (something we know won't happen, right??? Right.), I'm sure he would be like her - a demon who still remembers what it's like to be human. Their last conversation, about preparing Sam for the war because Dean wouldn't be there anymore My heart broke for both my boys. I had so been hoping that Ruby would know a way to save Dean, for Sam's sake. It's the only reason he trusted her in the first place. And now I'm curious about this new demon leader; if he wants Sam dead, that promises some really good, angsty stories .... which we probably won't see before Season 4 *sigh* On a side note: I found this new site where I can watch tv shows online and the quality of Supernatural is sooo good, almost like tv quality. Only for this episode, the tone was a little behind. So I had Dean talking with Sam's voice, Ruby talking with Dean's voice, Sam talking with Ruby's voice and so on ... it was annoying and funny at the same time LOL Okay, and now I'd like to read your thoughts

At first I worried that Dean would believe Sam would have to kill him... But then I recalled how Ruby said it takes 100's of years to lose your humanity...
My heart broke for Dean... When he made the deal, I'm sure he assumed he'd simply go to hell and suffer... I don't think he ever (nor did I) counted on going demon or "turning into something else" as Ruby reports.
I still want to know why Ruby didn't forget her humanity.
I still wonder... As Sam was complimented for his quick thinking, if he hasn't pieced together what will / can happen to Dean based on what was revealed about Ruby...
And I also agree... the opening was just simply too gross...

Hmmm, let's see if I can remember what I said to YOR about this episode...
First, I'm with you, Sil. Teeth--gross, cringing, turning my head away from the TV (seriously, I don't do teeth. I won't even look at my son's when he has loose ones). And the maggots in the meat--double gross!
I did like the witch, Tammi--the actress, I mean. I remember her from yeasr ago on "General Hospital," and thought she did a good job here.
Ruby--I can tolerate her a little more. I don't particularly care for the actress, but I thought she did well in her scene at the end. I still think she wants something--she's not just helping Sam out of the goodness of her little demon heart. She's got to get something out of this. Redemption, maybe? Maybe Sam will be able to save her soul or something? Or, if she helps Sam, her soul will be saved? I don't know. And is she really telling Dean the truth, or is she just trying to play the boys against each other?
Sam--I loved how he barged in on the witches, ready to shoot them at a moments notice. But being a Dean girl, I so wanted him to at least say something like, "Hang on, man," when Dean was coughing up his lung. I mean, I know that he didn't have alot of time, and he's not ready to let Dean go (not that I think he'll ever be ready, but I'm sure somewhere in the back of his mind he's thinking, "The year's not up yet!) I just wanted a little something more.
Dean--boy, can JA do the pain! I felt so bad for him at the end, finding out, just as Tessa the reaper told him, that he could become the thing he hunts. After the Ruby/Dean scene, I couldn't help but notice the possibility of role reversal. For quite a while, it's been "Will Sam go evil?" and "Will Dean have to kill Sam?" Now, it could be, "Will Dean go evil?" and "Will Sam have to kill Dean?" I don't know if the writer's will go there, but I think it could make for some interesting stories if they did!
So, does Ruby really not know how to get Dean out of his deal, or is she just saying that so Dean will help her prepare Sam for whatever it is she's preparing him for?

Shallow perhaps, but I was thinking Ruby merely wanted to buddy up with Sam eventually... Don't we all? Well, for some second only to Dean of course, but I suspect if Sam offered, we wouldn't say no. Back to the legitimate discussion... I am more intrigued by Ruby, but I agree, I don't think we know everything yet... And yes, who is the new big bad? I would assume this is the same big bad who owns Dean's contract, so if they kill him / it... Dean's free?

I mean, I know that he didn't have alot of time, and he's not ready to let Dean go (not that I think he'll ever be ready, but I'm sure somewhere in the back of his mind he's thinking, "The year's not up yet!) I just wanted a little something more. What bothered me a bit about this scene was, when Ruby saved Dean they sat down together and talked a bit. All the while Sam is on his way to the witches with the colt, planning to kill them to save Dean. Dean knows that ... and yet he takes the time to have a little chit-chat with Ruby? I agree with YOR about Dean turning evil; I don't think it will happen, at least not because of the deal. Ruby said that it takes hundred of years and Dean being Dean, with him it would probably take a while longer. And if Ruby managed to stay human a bit, I'm sure Dean could too. So, does Ruby really not know how to get Dean out of his deal, or is she just saying that so Dean will help her prepare Sam for whatever it is she's preparing him for?I'd really like to know what Ruby is planning; she has to have some more plans other than simply helping the boys fighting evil. Shallow perhaps, but I was thinking Ruby merely wanted to buddy up with Sam eventually...
Don't we all? Well, for some second only to Dean of course, but I suspect if Sam offered, we wouldn't say no. Well, I wouldn't say no LOL Of course, if I had to choose, it would definitely be Dean. And yes, who is the new big bad? I would assume this is the same big bad who owns Dean's contract, so if they kill him / it... Dean's free?I haven't thought about that yet. If he is, shouldn't Ruby know about it? So, once again it's find the demon and kill him Kill the demon, save Dean.
