From cwtv.com:
After investigating the death of a lawyer (guest star Nate Quinlan) who appeared to have been killed by a wild animal, Sam and Dean realize they are tracking a werewolf.
Sam is immediately attracted to the lawyer's secretary Madison (guest star Emmanuelle Vaugier) and when it seems as if Madison will be the werewolf's next victim, Sam offers to stay overnight to protect her. Dean heads out to hunt the animal and is stunned by what he finds.
Raelle Tucker wrote the episode directed by Charles Beeson.

How horrible! It's just so sad! Poor Sam. They definitely like to torture him, don't they? It's not enough that his mom and Jess die...then his dad...and he could possibly be demonic...Dude! Btw, I'm a Dean fan through and through. But Sam has some awesome arms! WOW!

lol... spoken like a true Dean fan... How about the devastation on Sam's face before going in to do the deed? *giggle*

Certainly Dean's face is striking, but Sam's open, distraught weeping is what wipes me out... Dean is being stoic Dean. Sam has utterly lost it. Forced to be the tough guy he never wanted to be...

I didn't like the end when Dean had the single tear coming out of his eye. Just seemed to rehearsed. Sam however...JP should get an emmy nod for that. You could tell he was in agony!!!!!

I had read a story about how Jensen got himself worked up for that scene, so that might be clouding my judgement!
And, yes, I do think Jared did an awesome job with that, even though I had a hard time buying the relationship. I just tell myself he was upset because of what he had to do, not because he was in love with her.

I agree... Although he might have THOUGHT he was in love at the time. It was his first sex since Jess...

I've read the same. It made that last scene even more real for me.

It's a sad story. Jared has two dogs which he loves deeply! (I think there are pics of him with them somewhere in the Gallery ... he looks so cute with them!).
So, Jensen imagined that when Sam went in to kill Madison, that Jared was forced to shoot his dogs. And that thought really shook him up.

Ough, it's painful to even read about this.
