I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing this. And not just because it is the first ep since the winter break (or whatever the official term for this is) ... after all the fics I read about (or fics that might be written one day I was told about) with the boys in a mental institution, I love that a story like that finally found it's way into the show.

Dear Dean,
I laughed. My heart hurt. It was a great episode. However, with all due respect, I can't help but feel you set up yours and Sam's doom with your advice at the end. Hello, burying intense emotions deeply is not the answer. Don't you salt and burn bad spirits? You must deal with them. I now see the set up for Detroit. *sigh* If I might submit, perhaps you might want to find a hunter therapist between now and then to DEAL with those emotions?
Yours,
YOR
Dear Sam,
Feel free to be strapped to a bed in or out of a t-shirt any time!
yours,
YOR

Well, in fairness to Dean, all he heard last season from Sam, Bobby, Zachariah, was to stop his "whining" and fight; was told basically that he didn't have time to "feel," that too much was at stake. Sam doesn't want Dean to coddle him anymore, so Dean isn't. He's giving him the John, "Suck it up, soldier. This is war," speech. At least, that's how I see it. Neither one of them have time to wallow, and I sure hope your wrong about this being the reason Sam says "yes." If he does, it should be because he chooses to, not because of what Dean says/doesn't say. They are both grown men, and they are both responsible for their own choices. This one was okay. There were a few parts that felt kind of "off" to me. It didn't tell me anything new about the boys and where their minds are, but I think they finally saw in themselves what the viewers have been saying for a long time. Why is it all the emotional confessions are by the Impala?

Mick, because the Impala is family!!!! I too agree with you about Dean suppressing his feelings, he was pretty much told to not in just season 4 to suck it up, but pretty much his whole life by someone who was close to him, whether it was Sam, his dad, Bobby, etc.... So, I'm not surprised he's doing it here considering what's coming down the pike. Perhaps he thinks they can deal with all the "girly" feelings after the end of the world.
I thought it was a stroke of genius on the guys part to go in and just tell them the truth! , they got committed right away. LOL! It was rather hard to watch the boys going insane, but Jared and Jensen did such a great job with it! I thought that Dean's imaginary doctor kinda looked like Meg. I was also relieved that it wasn't really Dean telling Sam all those terrible things, that he was actually sitting by himself and talking to himself, poor crazy boy. The monster in this ep was really creepy. I will admit at times I had to look away!
Seems like the next ep is something that could have come out of fanfiction, too! Looking forward to seeing that one as well.

I agree! Especially when he finally realizes he's hallucinating her--the way she looks at him when she confirms it was so Meg-like. I wonder if that was intentional?

I wasn't blaming Dean, really. I wasn't. I SWEAR! You are absolutely right... They have always sucked it up. Winchester motto! I was merely referencing Dean as he said the lines. However, it occurred to me this will become their downfall. It will eat away at them.
I agree also with all your points... I was laughing out loud in the beginning. I especially loved the cheeky smile Dean offered when he found out he too would be committed!
