Much to my distress, I did not get to see My Bloody Valentine this weekend. It was not for lack of taunting and trying. Taunting? Try explaining to a group of education professionals that you need to go see a horror flick and WHY (in my case.) Trying? Well, there was a theater a block a way from the hotel. COOL. Got the show times. We had an official dinner and weren't sure when it would be over for the early movie, but I decided for sure I would go to the late movie. Get done with dinner on time to run to the film. HUGE lines at this theater. I'm half way there, find out the early showing is sold out. ok. I'll go to the late. As I advance, A HUGE FIGHT breaks out amidst a bunch of teens. It keeps errupting and pushing in to the lines. Security is there, managers, employees, etc. Craziness. (Stupid early teens) SO, finally, I'm about ten from the window and YOU GUESSED IT.. Late movie sells out! SO, I hooked back up with a few others from our group and we went to "Paul Blart: Mall Cop", which especially after my dinner drinks, was funny. Get this, WHEN we come out... There's a fire in the building. Two trucks, smoke, water, and yet NO evacuation! I'm not sure I'm going to movies in Chicago again. Think I'll just have to suck it up and go here in town.

Wow, that's the most exciting trip to a movie I've ever heard about. I'm sorry you had so much bad luck there! They didn't evacuate even though there was a fire???
I never thought a horror movie would ever get sold out.
So, what did the education professionals say when you suggested the movie? *g*

Wish I were going to be in Bama sometime soon, Mick! I'd drive to Atlanta to watch it with you! Yor, do you think MVB will still be playing at the end of April?? Course you might be a bit busy..something about a party...

That would be so cool, J'babe.
I've read some about the movie, and I think I may be able to convince myslef and Shawn to go see it, it's just a matter of when. Of course, I'll probably just end up watching it one cable or something. Does anyone know if you have to have a special screen for the 3D thing thing? Or just the glasses (I have a couple of pairs from when I took the kids to see "Journey to the Center of the Earth" in 3D this past summer).

Yes, they need special equipment. I found out from the kids today that our theater isn't showing it in 3D. It looks odd. This means I'm going to have to drive out of town to see it.
But damn it, I might just do it this weekend if we ever get a break in the weather.

I don't mind the snow, just makes driving a bit trickier. I had to laugh today. Out of no where, one of my students says...
Wait for it...
(He's going to have to get an A, right?)
"I can't WAIT for Friday the 13th to come out. That looks SO cool!"
I about DIED!!!!! Course, he didn't know who JP was....

See, I read that, and I think to myself, "I remember when the original came out! (not that I saw it in the theaters--too scary!)

Your student definitely deserves an A for that!
