From cwtv.com:
On a mission to save their father (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) from Meg (guest star Nicki Aycox), Sam and Dean seek help from an old family friend, Bobby (guest star Jim Beaver). When Meg shows up on Bobby's doorstep, the brothers lure her into a trap and exorcise the demon from her body after learning where John is being held prisoner. While trying to rescue John, the demon shows up and a full battle ensues between the Winchesters and the demon they have been searching for all their lives.
The episode was written by Eric Kripke directed by Kim Manners.

Okay--I have to admit, this is one of my favorites, so I've rewatched it quite a bit. So much so that I noticed an editing mistake towards the end of it. Has anybody else noticed it? It has to do with the blood on Dean's face while YED is hurting him.
They show two different close-ups--the first when he's begging his dad not to kill him, and then when he passes out. There's more blood on his face in the first scene then in the second.
Okay--so I'm obsessed. ;D

I've never noticed it. You do watched it a lot, don't you? I'll have to pay better attention the next time.

I like this one too. Hate the ending tho! Glad I didn't have to wait months to see Season 2's premier!

Yes, I wouldn't have survived waiting that long to find out what happend with the Winchesters. And the Impala!

It was definitely easier to fall in love with SPN when there was no waiting!

I totally agree.
It was an awesome cliff hanger, though (even if I did know what happened after). I actually would rank it with the end of season 1 of BSG--one of those mouth hanging open that just did not happen things.

Oh yeah, definitely Mick. I think Salvation and Devil's Trap are a couple of the best episodes of the season. Not just because of the story, but the acting. Superb!

Ok, I've been watching Salvation and Devil's Trap over and over and over....just love those episodes! Anyway, one part struck me as funny in DT. It's in a totally serious moment too.
When they are at Bobby's and Bobby says to Dean, "That's a human possessed by a demon. Can't you tell?"
It just gives me the giggles! Um, guess he couldn't? ;D

Why is it, when I see the last shot of Bobby, when the boys leave... I get a feeling he might be hiding something?
I've always wondered if they intended to have Bobby go evil or be a hidden bad guy? It would be a hell of a twist, but every time I see those shaded eyes... I think it.
