From cwtv.com:
After Daniel Elkins, a vampire hunter (guest star Terence Kelly) and John's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) mentor, is murdered, Sam and Dean are surprised when John himself shows up to solve the case. John discovers the vampires have taken an antique gun, which has the power to kill all supernatural beings. The Winchester family sets out to retrieve the gun from the vampires so they can use it to kill the demon that took Sam and Dean's mother.
The episode was written by Cathryn Humphris & John Shiban and directed by Tony Wharmby.

The best episode in my book to date. While Dean/Sam rock, Dean/Sam/John blow up the screen from all the tension. So many great scenes I'm not sure where to begin.
Oh, okay, the one where Sam blows up at Dad, right there in the middle of the road. And Dean is caught between them both. Great emotional stuff all around. It really pulled at my fanfic-y strings, damn. Not much yet, but it did.

Do I see a fanfic comeing from you? The scenes with John really are awesome! The three have an amazing chemistry together.

That scene says so much about the guys and their relationship to each other. It's amazing (ot me, at least) that we get so much knwledge about the relationship between father and sons from just a few interactions.
JDM, JP, and JA have AMAZING chemistry together!

Gotta finish "Choices...", gotta finish, will not think about anything until I finish, nonono... Not even Dean caught between raging Sam and authoritative John. Swooon...

I definitely see a fanfic coming You know, maybe taking a short break from "Choices" is just what you need right now Another scene I loved in this ep is when John shoots the vampire with the colt. In their own twisted Winchester way, this shows that he really loves his son because there are only a few bullets left and he needs them for the YED, yet he doesn't hesitate to shoot to save Sam.
