I'm reading this on all the sites this morning and I'm still shocked
Yesterday, Heath Ledger died in a New Yorker Apartment from what seems to be an overdose of sleeping pills.
He was a very sympathetic actor and I very much liked and enjoyed watching him. I haven't seen all his movies, but most of them as well as a tv show. He was only 28 years old and leaves behind a 2 year old daughter.
He was too young to die.

Truly sad... His family says it was an accident. I guess it doesn't make a difference as it's sad any way you look at it.

It's hard to believe that he would actually do drugs or commit suicide, so I hope they are right. You're right, it is sad either way.

The press has been all over this story like a swarm of locusts here in OZ. His father read a moving statement that was aired on prime time tv, vehemently denying that his son was on illegal drugs. His home town of Perth, Western Australia is shocked that their favourite son is no longer. The press has been rife with stories that he was naked in bed...So? Since when was that illegal? Also, that there were prescription sleeping pills all over his bed. They're not illegel either. Further statments saying that he had a gruelling schedule on the new Batman movie and that he was run down and tired afterward. Heh, haven't we all had a bad day at work and just want to come home and relax. The press even inserted an old interview where he mentioned that he felt okay if he died as he would now live on in his daughter Matilda. So, what are they implying? That he had some sort of death wish to do himself in? He is also reported to be suffering from pneumonia. I neither liked nor disliked him in a movie. Only having really seen him in Brokeback Mountain. But I do agree that the point that a lot of people are missing, in their rush to sensationalise it all, is that he was a young man loved by family, friends and fans. Who will never get to see his daughter grow up and become a woman, will never know love again and never experience life and grow old. That is the real tragedy here. His autopsy is due to be released in 10 days. RIP........

I haven't read any more than what they wrote that first day. I didn't know it had become that bad.

I'm not sure what's worse - taking your life deliberately or dying from medications your doctor prescribed you.
