Oh Bobby ... after all the stupid things he watched Sam and Dean - and John! - do over the years and he still goes and does THIS! He should have known better Bobby broke my heart in this episode! Yet I do enjoy his storyline this season. He's always been the guy to go to when the Winchesters needed help ... now for the first time it's the other way around. I love how the boys stick to him, check on him, worry about him (especially Dean) ... just as if he were their dad. Loved OldDean! It makes me want to see Sam and Dean in old age, bickering like an old couple LOL Hopefully, Kripke doesn't plan to kill them off in the very last episode!

Overall, I enjoyed this episode (much more than I did last weeks). I think Chad Everett did a great job as old Dean. While, for me, he didn't sound like Dean, he had many of the same mannerisms, and the snarkiness was still there. I can imagine it must be difficult to play a character so well known by the fans and do it justice. Kudos to him for a job well done.
I also liked Patrick. I know he was the "man-witch" and all, but there was still something sympathetic about him and his girl. Although, I do think they left a huge plot-hole at the end by not having the boys do what they set out to do. Will he be back? Is he still out there taking years away from people?
The end poker game with Sam, though, wasn't a surprise. I knew it would come down to him and Patrick, with Sam being the victor. I have to admit to rolling my eyes when the witch started in with the whole "the younger brother can't do what he wants to" thing. I'm as tired of that as I am of Dean being reminded of his self-worth issues, so I smiled hugely when it became apparent that Dean and Bobby were in on the plan! I liked the tenseness of the scene, and I think Jared was awesome during the whole thing.
Bobby--I think his feelings would be true of anyone in that position. Here is he, used to being out there and doing things, and all of a sudden he feels useless. I loved the scenes with Dean in the beginning and in the end. The speech at the end was touching...I liked how Dean got through to him (and he was alot more sympathetic to Bobby than Bobby was to him in the season finale!). Of course, Dean's character has always been the one to want to keep his family together, and Bobby is family.
Bobby and old Dean were a hoot! Those two could have a show of their own!
And Dean's little jump at the end when he was young again--LOVED IT!!!! I don't know if it was scripted or ad-libbed, but it was just so Dean!
I do have to wonder, though, what Zach would have done had Dean died? And, also, is the apocalypse still going on? I feel like it's been a while since that's really been dealt with.

I'm almost glad he survived ... it gives us a chance to see him again I have to admit to rolling my eyes when the witch started in with the whole "the younger brother can't do what he wants to" thing.Me too! I was cheering when we found out this was THEIR plan TOGETHER! At least they seemed to have learned their lesson NOT to have secrets from each other. I hope they continue to! Bobby and old Dean were a hoot! Those two could have a show of their own!ABSOLUTELY! And, also, is the apocalypse still going on? I feel like it's been a while since that's really been dealt with. I was wondering the same. I guess it's a very slow going apocalypse, judging by the next ep is going to be a "fun" one again.

I generally agree with everything you've all said. I did appreciate the moment of tension at the end, when Sam was leaving and was hesitant to say where he was going. My heart stopped. "Oh no Sam, not again." Then I went in the same instant, "He doesn't have to report his every step." Then I went, "shit, for a little while he probably does." While my mind is whirling, the tension ends and he admits he's going to the doc. Please note, Dean did press him for details. Dean wasn't letting him get away with no info either.

Huh, I was so sure I had already replied to this. Weird ... My heart stopped. "Oh no Sam, not again." Then I went in the same instant, "He doesn't have to report his every step." Then I went, "shit, for a little while he probably does." While my mind is whirling, the tension ends and he admits he's going to the doc. Please note, Dean did press him for details.
