OK, (risky) Is Dean wearing too much eyeliner? His eyes look squinty this season.

Is Dean wearing too much eyeliner
Heh, I noticed the eyeliner in this episode. I wonder if maybe it has something to do with how dark his scenes were? I didn't notice it in the last episode when they were outside.
Oh, and Sam...not to offend anyone, and this is a personal preference, but please shave the sideburns. All I could think in that last scene he had was how much I wanted to take a razor and get rid of the sharpness and length of them.
ETA: I have to say, the one-liners were everywhere tonight!

I'm not a huge fan of the sideburns, but the squinty eyes bother me more. I wasn't bothered by Sam in the short sleeves!!!! Although I know Dean needs the healing of knowing his family has been holding him down, did anyone else just HURT when he delivered that news? I did. And I KNEW Sam would have to end up being the Vessel... Didn't we all? Sam v Dean? I liked the twist of the other hunters finding out and what they wanted Sam to do... I thought that was interesting. Here they are WANTING Sam to use his mojo in the way HE originally thought he could. Broke my heart. A lot broke my heart tonight. And yeah, a lot broke my heart and yet a lot of one liners. I think I laughed most when Dean let Cas take the fall... or was it the look of sheer terror on Cas's face at the brothel?

I wasn't bothered by Sam in the short sleeves!!!And I bet you weren't bothered by him shirtless, either!!! I'm kind of meh about this one. I adored Misha--his facial expressions and the way he delivered his lines cracked me up. I kind of figured Jess was Lucifer by the things she was saying--very much like what happened in the season premiere. Yeah, no surprise about Sam being Lucifer's vessel. I think we all called that one a year ago!!! And, like I said in the season premiere thread here, it will be brother vs brother in the angelic sense and the physical sense. Although, I do have to say, I hope the boys both can tell heaven and hell to screw it and find another way to fight without them. It's interesting in the destiny vs free will thing. I liked the guy who portrayed Raphael. I also liked Dean's speech to Cas in the end about not giving up on God--very reminiscent of what he said to Sam last year in "The Great Pumpkin." What Lucifer said to Sam about the weight of the world was also similar to what Cas told Dean last season. Lots of symmetry, starting off with showing both boys in separate states. I don't think it was Lucifer who saved Cas. Cas said whoever saved him saved the boys, so why would Lucifer save Dean? If he let Dean die, then he would win, right? There would be no vessel for Michael. Or, I'm just thinking about it too much. I didn't care much for the hunters. I mean, it was cool to see others from the community, but I don't think they were very smart. You don't try to get someone high and not worry that they might turn on you. Sam--he stills seems like he's only working on dealing with his role in starting the apocalypse. What about how he treated the people who love him? They're hurt because of his lying and deceitfulness. That's why the trust was lost. I hope the writers don't gloss over that fact. He still seems to be thinking of the bigger picture, so to speak. I also think he needs to deal with how his actions (not freeing Lucifer--the lies and sneaking around) affected his brother. But I guess miles vary and all that. did anyone else just HURT when he delivered that newsActually, all I could think of was the Dean-bashing that would probably go on at other sites (and, yep, I did read a few last night). Yep, what Dean said was harsh. I don't for a minute believe he's happier without Sam--his glances to the empty seat, him asking about his charm say that to me. I do think he may feel relieved to finally not have that pressure of being responsible for Sam--he's been responsible for him since he was 4. I think he's maybe trying to convince himself that he's better off--putting on that tough front and all. Although I don't think Cas believed him, either. So, will Sam tell Dean what Lucifer said to him, or will he keep it to himself? I have to wonder how Lucifer is going to get Sam to agree? And we all know that that would probably be the thing to get Dean to agree to be Michael's vessel. We know what'll happen to Dean once Michael leaves--will the same thing happen to Sam? Would it be different since it's Lucifer and he's not an archangel? Would it be worse? ETA: I loved the special effects in this episode. Raphael's wings were awesome, the fire around him was cool, the way Jess' face transformed to Lucifer's was creepy!

I KNEW Jess was the devil! Loved the scenes with Sam, Dean's part not so much, although it was funny. That's all for tonight, it's far too late for more and I gotta be fit for Felix Day Two tomorrow

Ok, agreed, Sam has more to work on. But Dean didn't have to process his hell experience all at once either.
I agree the hunters weren't smart, but I still liked the twist.

Personally, I don't think he processed it all that much to begin with. As soon as he was back, he was hunting again. I think the writers kind of glossed it over--we got some roadside confessions, him making comments about being tired, then he got an AU life and was over it. I think they could have done alot more with hell story than they did, but again, miles vary and all.
